Silver bullet strategy, automated

A fair value gap forms in the 10:00 to 11:00 New York window; the first candle back into it before 11:00 is the signal. The bot runs it on real candles, draws each signal and posts it to your Telegram channel, built with you in early access.

The most recent silver bullet signal on XAUUSD, drawn by the bot: sell at 4000.90
The most recent signal this template's code found on Gold (XAUUSD): a sell at 10:45 New York on Friday 23 October 2026, on real 5 min candles. Drawn by the bot.

What the silver bullet is

The silver bullet is a fair value gap strategy that works inside one hour. Instead of watching every gap all day, the trader waits for a set window, most often 10:00 to 11:00 New York, and takes only a gap that forms in it and is retraced before it closes. The hour is chosen because it follows the US data releases and the stock market open, when gold and the dollar pairs tend to move.

It is a time filter laid over the three-candle gap, which makes it simple to automate: a clock, a gap of a set size, and the first candle to return into it. The rules leave no room for a second look, so a bot applies them the same way every day.

The bot's rules

  1. The window is 10:00 to 11:00 New York. A gap counts if its third 5-minute candle closes inside the window: three candles where the third one's low is above the first one's high (a buy), or its high below the first one's low (a sell), at least 0.25 times the ATR(14) tall.
  2. Buy at the close of the first later candle whose low reaches the gap's top and which closes above its bottom (a sell mirrors it). That candle must close before 11:00; if a candle closes through the gap first, it is void.
  3. Stop beyond the three candles that made the gap, plus 0.1 times the ATR(14). Targets at 1, 2, 3 times the stop distance.
  4. One signal per window: the first.

Which version. The New York morning window, as it is usually taught: a 5-minute fair value gap whose third candle closes between 10:00 and 11:00 New York, entry on the first retrace into it before 11:00, one trade a window.

Automation, not an edge. A template does the work of watching the chart, finding the setup and posting it. It does not make the strategy win. Before it goes live in your channel we run it over past candles on your markets and show you every signal it would have sent, losses included, privately.

What can be changed

  • The rules: every setting above, and any filter or confirmation you can write down.
  • The markets: gold and the seven US-dollar majors, one or all of them.
  • The chart: your logo where the placeholder is, a chart template in your colours, and the marks your method uses.
  • The channels: every signal to a paid channel and a paced share to a free one, the way our own channels run.

Or bring a strategy that is not here: every template started as rules someone wrote down.

Questions

Which window does it use?

The 10:00 to 11:00 New York window is the version most often taught, and it is the default here. The 03:00 to 04:00 and 14:00 to 15:00 New York windows are also taught, and are a setting away.

What if the gap is not retraced before the window ends?

Then there is no signal. The first candle back into the gap must close before the window ends, and a candle that closes through the gap first voids it. Some days have no setup at all, and the bot sends nothing.

How is it different from a plain fair value gap?

Two things: the gap must form inside the window, and the retrace must come inside it too. It takes only the first signal of the window, so it sends at most one a day. The gap itself is found the same way, on 5-minute candles.

Does the bot place trades?

No. It finds the setup, draws the chart, posts the signal to your Telegram channel and follows it with a reply at each target and at the stop. It does not connect to a broker or trade any account.

Can I change the rules?

Yes. Every setting in the table above is yours to change, and so is anything else that can be written down: a filter, a session, a second confirmation, a different stop. If a step is a judgement call, we work out with you how to write it as a rule.

Will it make money?

We do not say it will, for this template or any other. A template is automation, not an edge. Before it goes live we run it over past candles on your markets and show you every signal it would have sent, losses included, privately. How a strategy behaved on past candles is not what it will do.

Is it AI?

No. It follows the written rules on this page. The same candles always give the same signals.

Which markets and timeframes?

The seven US-dollar majors and gold today, on any timeframe from 5 minutes to daily. Other markets need a price feed for them first; ask us.

What does it cost?

Templates are in early access: built with you, for your channel, and priced before launch. Early-access members hear the price first. For a broker, prop firm or educator, write to us.
